The event will also feature Joanita Kawalya of Afrigo Band, whose influence on Uganda’s live music scene spans decades.

The concert highlights the growing role of brands in supporting live entertainment, with Tusker Malt Lager and The Singleton coming on board as headline sponsors.

For Tusker Malt, the partnership builds on its long-standing involvement in the music space. Through initiatives such as Tusker Malt Band Nights, the brand has created platforms for live bands, helping grow audiences in Kampala and beyond.

It has also supported smaller, curated performances through projects like Tusker Malt Conversessions with Swangz Avenue.

Sandra Againe, Tusker Malt Brand Manager, said the collaboration reflects the brand’s continued investment in live music.

“Tusker Malt has always believed in the power of live music as a cultural connector. Supporting Abeeka’s first independent concert is a continuation of that journey, recognising a band that embodies the spirit of craft and excellence,” she said.

The Singleton, on the other hand, is known for premium and intimate experiences that combine music, fine dining, and lifestyle events, and its involvement is expected to add a refined touch to the concert.

Simon Lapyem, The Singleton East Africa Brand Manager, said the event aligns with the brand’s vision.

“At The Singleton, we are passionate about creating experiences that bring people together over great music, food, and conversation. Abeeka’s Roots & Vibes concert aligns perfectly with that vision,” he said.

The Abeeka concert brings together talent, experience, and brand support, underscoring how live music in Uganda is evolving into a major cultural and commercial attraction.

With strong backing from Tusker Malt and The Singleton, the Roots & Vibes concert is expected to stand out as a key event on Uganda’s entertainment calendar.

On May 2, Abeeka Band will not only perform, but also mark a significant milestone in its journey and in the growth of live music in Uganda.
